Jennifer Hritz has dedicated her life to the writing of literary fiction.
Born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, in 1970, she moved with her family
to Lake Jackson, Texas, when she was nine. After the completion of
her Ph.D. in 2000, she devoted herself to the writing of her first novel,
The Crossing, and eventually her second novel, the award-winning
I, Too, Have Suffered in the Garden. Her first short story, “Mixed
Media,” won the 2009 Chris O’Malley Fiction Prize and was published
in The Madison Review. A third novel, The Sing of the Gate, is
forthcoming.

She lives in Austin with her husband, son, and two unruly canines.
